Glossybox August 2015 - Review

Seriously where is this year going? How am I on the August review of Glossbox already? Madness. For this months box we are back to the Glossybox classic, they are celebrating their fourth birthday this month and promise this box to be full of beauty discoveries from around the world. After the July box I had high hopes because I felt the French edition was a cracker of a box.

There seemed to be a pretty good selection of products sent this month. Although nothing massively struck out at me and didn't me go 'ohhhh' there did appear to be a fair variety of items.

The first item is Sass Purifying Cleanser (RRP £7.00, full size received) we received an item from Sass a little while ago and I likened it a little bit to something that you'd use in the bedroom (lol). This is an in shower cleanser designed to balance the skins PH balance as well as energising. Not so sure on this item, I'm not sure that the brand really fits in with Glossybox?

The second item is my favourite out of this months box. We were sent a Naobay item in the March box and I loved it so was pleased to receive this Naobay Calming Face Toner (RRP £10.65, full size received). I love the packaging as I did previously and the scent is nice too. As with other cleansers it's designed to remove traces of makeup, calm, cleanse and hydrate the skin, perfect.

The next item is a brand from the US, Manna Kadar Lash Primer (RRP £14.55, full size received). Designed to nourish the eyelashes as it features Vit B12 it should leave the lashes conditioned and voluminous. As my eyes are my favourite feature I will be intrigued to give this is a go, anything to give me long, luscious lashes eh!

Fourth item  was from a brand that has featured heavily in previous Glossyboxes, I initially wasn't keen on the brand until Glossybox introduced me to some of their products and now I really like them! This MeMeMe Lip Glide in shade playful peach (£6.95 for full size received) is matte-velvet and is in a nice coral shade, very pretty. They say it's highly pigmented and long lasting, I have yet to try it but on swatching it is a pretty colour.

Lastly, the item that was voted by Glossyboxers to appear in this months box (the choice was between blush or brush, I think I chose brush but hey ho!). Emite Artist Colour Powder Blush (RRP £20.59 full size received) is a blush/bronzer hybrid, it adds warmth to the complexion and gently contours (apparently). I wasn't massively impressed with this, the colour was too flat and for the price the packaging is poor. Not a great item, I definitely would have preferred a brush!

So this month I am neither over whelmed or under whelmed, a decent selection of items but I preferred last months without a doubt.

What do you think of the August Glossybox? It's not a bad box I don't think, but could be better.

  2. I've just cancelled my subscription after the July Box. This one looks pretty much same old, same old. I really think they need to add a bit of oomph to compete with some of the other beauty boxes out there.

  3. I liked the look of the blush until you had said that it is underwhelming which is a shame. What did you get in last months box?http://www.fadedspring.co.uk

  5. It does seem like a bit of a disappointment this month with no real wow items - what a shame.
