Cleaning up the Garden Made Easy!

Getting your garden tidied up and in good shape isn't just a springtime activity, and it's important to remember this. You did the big clean up in the autumn ready for the winter, but you need to do it all again soon enough. Tidying up the garden may not be as easy as raking the leaves and dead-heading any plants. You need a garden that's tidy so that you don't end up with clogged drains and blocked gutters, and tidying is the best place to start. Pick up the rubbish. It may not be yours, but the rubbish that blows into your garden from the neighbourhood by the wintry winds needs to be picked up. Wear gardening gloves, and you won't have to touch anything directly. Be careful of any broken glass that can occur as the result of broken greenhouse glass in the bad weather, and you'll ensure that your lawn grows healthily and free of any trash.
Grab a rake. Taking a rake to the leaves in your garden will make a big difference to the way that it looks. You can prevent any mould starting on the lawn because of the snow, and you can give it a good once-over to get rid of the remaining mushy leaves after the snow has fallen. Also, make sure you check your gutters, build up of leaves and debris can make drainage difficult. Clean the tools. any tools you have for your garden need to be properly cleaned so that they don't rust through the season. For the tools, make sure that the blades are clean and replaced so that they're sharp and ready to go. The casing should be checked for cracks, too, as you want to ensure that your equipment is ready to use when you bring them back out for the new season.
Prune the dead branches that you can reach. You may have already called in the tree surgeon, but you can still get some of the branches cut down yourself. Pruning the dead branches and twigs will ensure that you have the whole garden tidied and ready for the new season.
Tidy through the shed. The shed shouldn't be a space that's overcrowded and stuffed with dirty tools. In fact, the shed should be in the best possible condition and cleaned out ready for storing new compost and soil, seedlings and more.
