So Saturday brings our fifth wedding anniversary, the 'annual commemoration of couple's marriage'.....thanks online dictionary, ha. I can't quite believe it, the years have gone by so quickly. I'm not going to go into detail about our wedding, I wrote about it back in 2013 which you can read here, lots of pictures feature on that too if you fancy a nose. In this post I'm sharing a very small selection of some of my favourite images that make me smile when I look at them.
The picture below was taken when we were being silly in the kids playground, I love that it captures a bit of our stupid side these were more of the natural posed ones (if that makes any sense at all?!). The photographer was starting to grate a bit on us at this point as she was taking forever but I'm glad we did venture out by ourselves into the open green area of our venue.
This picture encapsulates our relationship. Such a simple act of love, we didn't know that this was been taken by the photographer, it wasn't posed, it was just us walking around the grounds holding hands. I love it. One of my favorite pictures.
This picture was actually quite amusing, just near us was a pond that I was paranoid I was going to fall into. The photographer is actually standing in a pile of reeds, at one point I did think he is going to do himself some damage. I also remember my dress getting covered in all sorts of foliage and at this point I had taken my wedding heels off and was in flip flops and my feet were soaking. All that though resulted in a great photo I think (apart from my fat arm, grrr.)
Lastly, this one just makes me laugh. Up till the day before the wedding it had been pouring but the day the sun came out and it was really quite warm. It did mean that the wasps were out in their masses (rather annoyingly). We had just had confetti thrown over us but what I'm actually focusing on is the 2 wasps that had decided to make home on my bouquet. My face is a picture, great capture I think.
Of course I could add hundreds more pictures and waffle on about my beautiful wedding day that I still think about now but I won't. All that remains to be said is 5 years down the road we're happy, we've moved on so much with our life and we continue to focus on the future together.
Here's to the next five!! P.S When do the anniversaries become good?? This year is wood........wood I tell you, I'm half expecting to receive a chopping board or salad servers!!! Better than fruit I guess.......
Lovely photos and congrats on your wedding anniversary - time just seems to be going faster and faster as I get older.. I think it's having children that does it ;)

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary - and enjoy those salad servers ;) It's great looking back at pictures from weddings isn't it - they bring so many happy memories of the day back. We celebrated 8 years this year - and it's not any better - ceramics! I've taken over the anniversary present shopping and at some point will buy something to mark the event. Each year MOH says I don't have to buy you another card do I... He's a romantic really !! #wotw

ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos. Happy anniversary to you both. We went with photo frames for our 'wood' anniversary - I did a photo collage covering the five years of our married life although hubby (sensibly I think!) left his collage frame blank for me to fill! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary and you do have some lovely photos. Oh, I know what you mean about pretty awful traditional presents, we just had our 10th anniversary which should be celebrated by tin, apparently...yes, Tin!!
