GlossyBox Review August 2013 - High Flyers

So here we are again, GlossyBox time! Can't quite believe we are on the August box already, this year is flying ....... which brings me nicely on to the theme of this months box. This months theme is 'High -Flyers', designed for the girl on the go with products from around the world and are perfect for summer travels.

I hadn't read any spoilers for this months box so had no idea what I was going to receive. When I think of 'high flyers' I immediately think of multi -use products and handy items that will be useful to take on summer travels. It's worth noting that all of the items are under 100ml which means that the items are aeroplane cabin friendly which is well thought out, so thank you Glossybox!

So what did I get?

GlossyBox Contents:
1. Urban Veda Purifying Exfoliating Facial Polish (£8.99 for full size 125ml, received in GlossyBox 20ml) I haven't heard of this brand probably because it's a new skin care brand that has just recently launched. The Urban Veda range has been designed to combat pollution naturally to leave skin less vulnerable to the environment. It's a nice item and it smells lovely and has a nice application. I'll take this away with me for sure!

2. Tresemme Keratin Smooth Concentrated Treatment Shot (£1.49 for 15ml full size received in GlossyBox) Not a massive fan of Tresemme if I'm honest but I like the concept of the product. Designed to return your sun/sea/weathered hair back to all its glory with keratin technology. I'm due to have my roots done soon so will use this when my hair needs a little moisture boost.

3. Oceane Make Up Remover Pen (not yet available in the UK so I don't know the RRP) This is an interesting product. I'm intrigued to see how this works, I'm not sure I'd use it to remove my make up fully and I don't think that it'd be possible but I'll definitely be using it to touch up my eye make up/eyeliner/mascara etc and I love the fact I can just pop it in my bag and use it touch up my make up as and when needed.

4. Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Shadow/Liner (£10.50 for full size 2.8g received in GlossyBox) This is a nice product to include, it doubles up as a liner and a shadow and it's a staple make up item. I received a black pencil which is great as I'm never seen without black eyeliner, I tested it earlier and it applies similar to kohl liners which I love, as it's black I'm not sure I'd use it as an eyeshadow but it will be useful if I'm doing a smokey eye. I like!

5. Emite Eyelash Curler (£20.00 approximately) I'm actually really pleased to receive these, I'm due some new curlers and they are a must have in my make up collection so these will most definitely be the most used item out of this months box. I've never heard of the brand Emite but these curlers have been designed to suit all eye types and to be used without them touching your make up base which is a brilliant idea! I can't believe that they retail for £20.00 though, that's pretty extortionate for a pair of eyelash curlers! I'll be giving them a thorough testing and I'll use them everyday so I think this is my favourite item out of this months box.

I'm really pleased with this months items, I hope the quality continues, what I would like to see over the next few boxes are some more well known items and that thought has been put into the themes of the box. I'm also pleased to see that the usual leaflet appears to have had a bit of a makeover, it's still paper but much better quality and the information layout is so much better, it looks a lot more professional.

So, who got anything different? Are you pleased with this months box?

  3. I got exactly the same products as you! The curler is really nice, but I think everything else is around average. I personally prefer Beautecobox, so much better for the same value. :) x

    1. Hiya! I've not heard of Beautecobox I will have a look. I think I was most disappointed with the tresemme as I just see this is a high street brand. Some more exclusive brands would be nice! X
