Bonmarche Edge to Edge Black Cardigan - Review

Nothing says a wardrobe staple like a black cardigan. I probably have about 5 in total and they're well worn, when Bonmarche contacted me and offered the chance to review an item from their new collection I was at first a little dubious, in my mind Bonmarche is full of dear old ladies stocking up on their stockings and nightwear. However the new season range pleasantly surprised me. Amongst the new collection are graphic prints, peplum dresses, florals and pencil skirts. Collaborating with David Emanuel is also bringing a slightly more high end feel to the items offered. For those who aren't aware of who David Emanuel is he is a fashion designer that famously designed Princess Diana's wedding dress in 1981.

When I was deciding what item of clothing to choose I was unsure of the sizing at Bonmarche so I stuck with my safe choice and went with the David Emanuel edge to edge cardigan in a size medium costing £22.00. The cardigan arrived in super quick time the next day and was packaged well.

On initial impressions I thought that the cardigan and quality of it was good. The cardigan itself feels very soft and delicate to touch When worn the medium size fits perfectly, it falls beautifully and clings in the right places and offers warmth as well as looking stylish. It's one of those items of clothing that I'd pick up and fling it over anything and it would look nice. It's a perfect length for me also as it hides a multitude of sins, I can also wrap it round me if I'm feeling cold, the arms are just the right length too.

Hopefully you can see in the pictures that the cardigan has almost a waterfall effect style at the front and the fabric is ribbed all over which adds a really nice texture to it. Not only is this suitable for Autumn or Winter but will be ideal for Spring and Summer as it's light enough to be worn then aswell.

I think I made absolutely the right choice in this cardigan I am definitely going to get a lot of wear out of it, it will be perfect to wear over my work uniform also which is an added bonus. I think Bonmarche as a brand still has the reputation of being a bit of an older persons shop (dare I say it!) but the new range has pleasantly surprised me and I know I have read some other blogs that have also been reviewing the range and have also been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the clothes they have been sent.

What do you think of my choice of cardigan? Did I make the right choice?
