New York Make Up Haul

While away I did have a mini splurge on some makeup and other bits and pieces. I found that the prices were quite a bit cheaper for certain brands of makeup, I also came across the shop Sephora again (I first discovered this shop while in France and it was like my makeup heaven) and in New York there seemed to be a Sephora on each corner, I was in my element!

So what did I buy?

Firstly I stocked up some lip balms, naturally I opted for Lip Smackers as they are my favourite, I purchased this collection from the M&M's Store, I'm not sure if you can buy the Skittles version in the UK but you can buy other versions. I can confirm that they smell amazing and just like Skittles, yum yum!

From Sephora I purchased these gorgeous molten liquid eyeliners, they are gorgeous. I particularly favour the glittery blue one on the end, it looks lovely when worn with minimal eyeshadow.

There is a nice variety of colours included in this kit, from the top we have a deep blue, glittery liner and the glitter is really sparkly. Next we have a lovely emerald green it's very pretty, the third colour is a pale lilac shade this one I'm not too sure how to wear as I think it's a little light to use as an eyeliner so I may have to experiment a bit. Finally we have a brown, not metallic but a nice staple colour to include. I can also confirm that they have excellent staying power!

Also purchased from Sephora was Too Faced Better than Sex mascara, I'd heard alot of hype about this on the 'bloggersphere' and I needed a new mascara so thought I'd see what the hype was all about.

I absolutely love the packaging and the metal tube is gorgeous, I have tested this a few times now and am in love with this mascara, even though on first impression the brush appears to take up quite alot of mascara on application it distributes evenly and my eyelashes look amazing (I have taken no pictures of this yet however!). Designed to offer a different coverage with each application and make the lashes fuller and curvaceous.

Also purchased from Sephora was another staple which is concealer. I took quite some time to decide which brand to get and I decided that since I'd never tried any Benefit concealer in the past I'd give it a go and I chose the popular Boi-ing industrial strength cake concealer. It applies beautifully and gives excellent results so I'm really pleased with my choice!

When it was snowing on the Saturday the obvious thing to do was to go shopping for some more make up! We popped into 'Bloomies' and headed straight to the Mac counter, I had to restrain myself from buying loads so settled for a single eyeshadow in the shade Crystal Avalanche (seen in pictures below), it's a pretty sparkly white shade which is perfect to either be used on it's own, as a highlighter or mixed with others colours.

Finally, I also purchased a Kohl eyeliner in black which is another one of my staples in my make up bag, I can't get enough of eyeliner at the moment, definitely can't live without it!! It's just a shame it doesn't come with a smudger on the end which I always think are nice and handy to be included on eye pencils to achieve the perfect smokey eye.

In all honesty I would have liked to have purchased loads more but I had already purchased some new UGG boots and other gifts for Alfie so I had to be aware of what I was spending and not to completely bankrupt myself on makeup (slight exaggeration obviously!).

What do you think of my makeup choices? Did I make some good choices?
