Hello again! Today we have a guest post from Leighanne at Bump and Beyond. It's something I can relate to as when I was pregnant I certainly spent a lot of time reading about other people's experiences. Thanks Leighanne!
Why I Read Pregnancy Blogs
I guess if you are reading this, then
you are into reading blogs – but I know that not everyone is! I
think blogs are still quite a phenomenon to some people and when I
mention to friends I have read something on a blog, they often don’t
quite understand why I read them and what they really are.
I am pregnant and about to be a mummy
for the first time. It is equally as scary as it is exciting. I have
always read fashion blogs, so when I discovered I was pregnant it
made sense that I move on and try to read pregnancy blogs – I am
really glad I did!
The great thing about pregnancy blogs
is that they are written by people in my exact position – they’re
not published authors paid to write whatever will sell a book.
Instead they are real people, giving real advice. It means you can
read up and get peace of mind that however you are feeling you are
not alone.
My Pregnancy Struggles
Everyone tells me that as a pregnant
woman I should be blooming however to be honest with you parts of it
have been a struggle. I have suffered with morning sickness
throughout most of the pregnancy – I am at 21 weeks and still being
sick. I am not even really sure why they call it morning sickness,
because for me the sickness can come at anytime. My moods have also
been up and down and often I have just wanted to spend time on my own
locked away. I did try speaking to my doctor about this but didn’t
receive much support – I wish I had gone back! However my friends
and family have been great so I am now feeling much more positive!
Getting Involved
As my pregnancy hasn’t been as smooth
sailing as it could have been, I wanted to get involved and let other
people who might be struggling to know that they are not alone. So, I
set up my own blog (Bump
and Beyond) and I am writing about all my ups and downs,
pregnancy rants, issues and even products I have found useful. I
think it’s really important and if everyone shared as much, then
there would be a wealth of information that women could read whilst
pregnant which is really important! In fact looking for mummy blogs
is how I came across this one and why I am writing a guest post now,
to let you know just how important blogging (reading and writing) is!
I’d love for you to come and say hi
at my blog!
