Cohorted Beauty Box July - Review

After subscribing to beauty boxes for a couple of years now there does come a time when you start looking around for a new one, there are so many on the market now it can be a bit of a minefield but recently I heard about Cohorted and I was excited.

After reading on a few of blogs about Cohorted and having a mooch on their website I HAD to get my hands on one. Unfortunately, when I was originally looking the July box was sold out BUT they were releasing some more later in July. Trouble is they were going on sale while I was away on holiday so being a tad obsessive I set myself a reminder on my phone to purchase one as soon as they went on sale in the UK. Lo and behold I managed to get myself my very first Cohorted box and after reading what had been included in previous months I actually could not wait to see what I would get.

My first box arrived just after we returned from holiday and unlike My Little Box which is fun and funky (and also my fav beauty subscription), Cohorted is black, slick and high end. The box is simple but elegant and tied with a black organza ribbon giving the impression that this box hides alot of hidden goodies.

Presented on top is the 'menu card' included in most of these subscriptions boxes with a little blurb and costing of what you have received. I received four items within this box and my word these items are fantastic!! SO much better than I could have anticipated and very exciting! As you can see the total value of items that I received in this months box came to a grand total of £63.50, not bad at all for a box that costs £19.99 (+p&p).

So I know you're probably wondering what I received, well continue reading and I'll show you.

First item, Flora by Gucci body lotion. It smells delicious and although not full size it's big enough to last a while, this is my least favourite item of the bottom. Although nice I felt that perhaps this was one that was once contained in a set? I wondered if this was why they can sell the box at the price they do, who knows but I love a body lotion and have already been using it.

Second, one of my favourite brands so you can imagine how pleased I was to receive this. A full size Nails Inc matte nail polish in a bright, cherry red shade called Gatwick. I love, love, love Nails Inc so this was a winner in my mind! As with all matter nail polishes you have to be super quick to apply it as it dries very quickly but once on it looks lush.

Third item was a full size St. Tropez gradual tanner. I love the brand St. Tropez and having used their tanner several times before I was very pleased to receive this. Having just returned from holiday this is an ideal item to keep my tan topped up. It actually smells really nice too considering it has self tan in it and it's a full size item so even better.

Finally, a gorgeous make up set by a designer that I'm not familiar with, Diego Dalla Palma. After a bit of research I have found that this is an Italian brand with some very, very nice items! M&S actually stock a fair amount from the range so I'm tempted to have a little dabble in some more items as this makeup set is fab. Consisting of 6 eyeshadows, 3 shimmery and 3 matte, a black eyeliner and a cherry red lipstick it's a feast for the eyes. The set is based on the film Snow White and the Huntsman so the colours are to be associated with that.

I can confirm that the eyeshadows are gorgeous, they have great longevity throughout the day and the colours are really very nice taking you through the day to evening. I love a black eyeliner and this one is no exception, smooth to apply and long lasting. I am yet to try out the lipstick as I don't wear a red lippie on a day to day basis BUT I will at somepoint! As for the packaging, it's slick, appealing and looks expensive. I love.

So overall I am pretty chuffed that I managed to get my hands on the exclusive July box and even more pleased that I've reserved an August box too! A subscription is soon becoming available and I'm pretty tempted to ditch my Glossybox subscription and make this my new monthly beauty box! If they carry on with the high quality products they are fast going to become a very coveted beauty box.

Not only do Cohorted offer their fab beauty box but they also run various 'cohorts' offering subscribers the chance to buy high end makeup at a reduced price. For example they currently have a Mac Mineralize Sun Finish Powder for £16.00 instead of £23.00, a Dior Addict Lip Colour for £13.50 instead of £24.00 and a Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Palette for £32.00 instead of £40.00, so some great deals to be had!

I can't wait to see where my new found love for Cohorted takes me and look forward to reviewing other boxes in the near future!
