Home Sweet Home.

I am back from a wonderful holiday and this weeks word of the week has to be home. The end of a holiday is so, completely rubbish, you have to pack, tidy and travel to get back to where you originally came from (which can be a mission in itself) and there is no excitement to it, usually just the dread of work and the jobs that await when you return!

That been said there is nothing quite like getting home, into your own bed and in your own surroundings. I love that moment of wriggling under the covers and knowing that you're snug as a bug in your own bed, it makes the holiday blues a little (only a little mind you) easier.

However, it's only when you're home you realise that you have all the rubbish tasks to complete, the work loads seems to have tripled since being away. The ridiculous mound of washing that seems to have accumulated over a couple of weeks, the house needs a good hoover and tidy (even though you're certain it looked much cleaner and tidier before you left!), everything needs unpacking and putting away and lets not even get started on the garden that now resembles a jungle. Then there is the post to sort through, the junk mail, the parcels that need collecting and any bills that haven't been paid......thankfully we didn't have this to be worried about, phew.

Thankfully where we were staying we had wifi (albeit a tad rustic) which meant I was able to stay on top of my emails which has relieved the pressure slightly as, typically I seemed to have quite a few come in while I was away. I do however have an absolute load of blog comments and posts to catch up on and not alot of time to catch up on them as we now seem to be really busy for the next few weeks, so I shall be cramming alot in around baby naps and nursery days I think! Got to love a bit of working under pressure!

All this said it's great to be home and back to the home comforts. You just can't beat it. Home is where the heart is.

  3. Lovely post - I'm spending this weekend with my Mum and Dad and it is sometimes the little things that make you feel at home.

  7. Glad you had a lovely holiday but welcome back! You're right the amount of washing that just seems to come back from a holiday is ridiculous!! But it's also sometimes nice to be away from WiFi but it does mean frantic scheduling before you leave!!
