Giving your Smile a Bright Boost

{Collaborative Content} Even though all smiles are beautiful, many people feel self-conscious about their teeth and smile. Teeth aren't usually bright white naturally, and almost all of us have some tooth crookedness to compete with.

But there are a couple of things that you can do to make sure that you are confident in your smile, and show the full extent of your happiness whenever you can.

There are plenty of cosmetic tricks that can help your smile and even your eyes look brighter. It works by choosing colors that have specific undertones - and they make eyes and teeth appear whiter.

Dental care

The very first place that you should look to have some major improvements on your teeth is your dentist! They will be able to give you a care plan that will have your teeth looking their best. It is important to look for a dental surgery that is new to you, and if you aren't happy with your current one, you can switch.

Making sure that you head to the dentist at your regular appointments and even booking an extra one for cleaning and brightening is a great start.

Fruits and Veggies

Apples, celery, and even strawberries are great to eat between appointments. Of course, you should be eating plenty of fruits and veggies anyway, as that is a big part of having a balanced diet.

Crunchy veggies and fruits help to reduce the build-up of plaque; vitamin C and some astringents are often found in many fruits and vegetables and also help to remove stains.

Eyeshadow

You might be surprised to know that the color of the eyeshadow that you use has a huge impact on how your teeth look! But some tones will naturally pull more yellow shades from your skin, eyes, and teeth.

Shades that have blue or green undertones can help to create the illusion of having whiter teeth and whiter eyes too.

But you will need to try different shades to find the one that works for you.

Berry-Nice

Unless you have a rich skin tone, yellow often makes people look sallow. It does this by reflecting the yellow tones in the skin, and rather than making it pop, it washes the person out. Lipstick of many different colors has the potential to do the same thing. Some lipstick colors will make teeth look even more yellow - even if they weren't that yellow, to begin with!

Hot pink and creamy pinks can be two of the worst offenders for making teeth look yellow. In contrast, deeper reds with a blue undertone and berry-colored lipsticks have the opposite effect. They balance out and neutralize any yellowing of the teeth.

And if all that wasn't enough, one of the ways that you can draw attention to your smile is by learning to contour to enhance the shape of your lips and smile. Contouring is designed to naturally draw attention to the parts of our face we love, enhancing our natural beauty!
