Thinking about Fathers Day?

So Fathers Day is just around the corner (16th June for anyone who isn't aware!) which got me thinking about what would make a good gift for the Daddies in our lives.

Last year was the first ever Fathers Day for Adi, my husband. Alfie was only a few weeks old and I was still adapting to life as a Mummy so I wasn't particularly inventive. Adi received a Jamie Oliver 'Top Dad' mug available from Amazon for £8.50 and some Superman cuff links which were from Next costing £13.00. Both of these items are still available to purchase which I think make  perfectly great gifts. However if you want something a bit more extravagant or unique read further to see what I have been looking at!

Superman Cuff Links

Personalised 'Thanks Dad' Poster

How about a fab, personalised poster for Dad? At Paper Themes they offer a lovely 297mm x 420mm poster with up to 6 personalised lines of text and a 'Thanks Dad' quote. They retail for £25.00 but currently Paper Themes are offering a 25% discount, what's not to love about that!

If a poster doesn't seem like the right gift, how about a wireless controller for a PlayStation 3? What man doesn't play computer games?! (OK, I know that is a slight generalisation but I'm sure one of these would go down well!).  You can see a great range of PS3 controllers by clicking on this link: Gioteck , lots of 'manliness' here!
DAB Digital Radio
How about one of these DAB digital radios instead? I know this is something my Dad would love as he loves tinkering away making models and likes being able to listen to the Grand Prix or Football. There are lots on the market to choose from and at Electrical Discounts UK there is a great choice with varying prices to suit any budget.

Make your Own Beer

This I know my husband would love for Fathers Day ( he technically doesn't need anymore brewing stuff as we have enough brewing bits already) but if any Dads are wanting to get into home brewing this would be an ideal place to start and makes a fantastic gift! This particular kit is available from Firebox and retails at £39.99. Brilliant!

Personalised Cuff links

How gorgeous are these! I know I've already featured some cuff links but these are so lovely and a perfect gift for a new Dad, Grandad etc. These can be personalised in different ways and make a wonderful memento. They are quite pricey at £129.00 BUT they are made to order and are a keepsake that will last forever (assuming none get lost!). Available from Not on the Highstreet (note: take 14-21 days for delivery).

It wouldn't be Fathers Day without a meal out so how about a Fathers Day lunch at a lovely hotel/restaurant. Many restaurants now do special set menus like here at the Wentbridge House Brasserie , they are putting on a delicious, seasonal three course lunch for £35.00 per person, what could be better than celebrating with great company and lovely food (book early to avoid disappointment).

Zorbing

For something a little bit different what about buying Dad a Zorbing experience. Strapped inside a massive sphere he can roll down a hill in this crazy inflatable ball at fast speeds (one for the dare devil Dads I think!) You can buy one of these experiences for £35.00 from Virgin Experience Days , check it out!

Last but not least I found this completely random gift that my husband would love! It made me laugh as it's a bit 'out there'.  A zombie battle experience...... can you survive the abandoned manor and zombies within it?! It costs £119.00 and is located in Cheshire so quite limited if you don't live anywhere near there, but a very unique gift! You can purchase this from I want one of Those !
Zombies!

I hope you've enjoyed reading this post and it's inspired you with some ideas for the Dad, Grandad, special man in your life!

Anyone else got any good ideas??

Hels X
