Our Week!

It's the 8th of January, this week has gone by very quickly indeed, but then I knew it would as it's my last week of maternity leave (wahhhh!). It's come about quite quickly and I'm still not fully prepared in my head for it but what I did know was that I wanted this week to be fun and filled with some nice memories so I planned a couple of things to make sure that this happened.

First of all in this group of pictures I'm sharing a few more snaps from New Years Eve. I had my hair done and realised I hadn't shown it it all, I loved it, an elegant up do and it meant I didn't have to faff around doing it myself, bonus! Oh my god I had alot to drink, way more than I have had in a very long time (my best friend is such a bad influence!), thankfully I kept topped up with water so although I did feel rough on new years day I have definitely felt worse. Snuggly cuddles helped the hangover out a bit.

We chilled on Saturday and then went for lunch at my parents, great....I didn't have to cook. While there I found the most phallic corkscrew.....I forgot they had it, it did make me giggle, although I swiftly hid it away from Alfie's eyes after I'd taken an Instagram photo (obviously!). Monday Alfie was in nursery so it was a house cleaning day for me.  Elarna had a settling in session at the same nursery later in the day (sob!) before we picked Alfie up, obviously she was absolutely fine but I didn't feel great about the whole thing. On Tuesday I had to head over to Stamford for an hour to meet my new manager before starting next week, it was ok, my emotions are all over the place at the moment.

Wednesday was just me and the kids. Just how I wanted it to be, I just wanted to be able to spend quality time with them and knew Adi was in London so it worked out quite well. We played pretty much most of the day and then when the rain stopped we managed to get out for a walk and then to the park and it was lovely. Blew away some cobwebs! On Thursday I had planned for us to go to a little zoo/wildlife park a few miles away from us. If you read my blog regularly you will know that Alfie has a huge love for all things zoo and animal related so knew he would love it. Thursday morning it was absolutely hammering it down and I was slightly worried that we wouldn't be able to go but it did dry up after a while so we managed to get there for lunchtime and had a great afternoon (if not slightly very cold and windy!).For a little zoo/wildlife park there was a decent amount to see, Alfie was particularly intrigued by the camels and gibbons! We had a really lovely afternoon.

There has also been a lot of love this week! Dare I say it I think we may have turned a little corner with Alfie and Elarna, he is being so much more affectionate and loving towards her.....of course there are times we he gets annoyed with her but mostly I find him giving her a cuddle and a kiss......honestly, heart melting stuff!! Not making  leaving them to go to work any easier, anyway more of that in another post!

So this is my week, the first week of 2016. It's been quite a busy one and a lovely one How about yours?
