Lux Style Blackhead Killer - Review

Blackheads, horrible things they are, fortunately I don't offer suffer with them but when I do I want to get rid asap. When I was offered the opportunity to try a mask that offers to 'suck' blackheads, pimples and oil and bacteria out of your skin I was intrigued to try it out. I relish any chance to pamper myself and pop a face mask on so this was the perfect excuse to do just that!

When I opened the pack initially I was a bit shocked that the actual product is black! I generally expect masks to look a little bit prettier I guess, all that kept going through my mind was I really hope none knocks at the door while this is on!! As with all face masks it's a very simple application, you basically slather it all over your face and leave it on for a few minutes. This particular product requires it to be left on for 10 minutes before it's peeled off. It smells lovely but is quite gloopy to apply and it was difficult to spread over my face, I also wasn't really sure how much should be applied so I just went with the flow and applied a layer, you also get that familiar tight feeling once it's on.

I thought I'd save you all from seeing it all on my ugly mug so you get a close up of it on my hand instead. As I said above once the mask is applied you leave it on for 10 minutes and once that's up you gently peel the mask off, I found that gently does it I wouldn't say that it's painful to remove but I noticed a little bit tugging on my skin at times. It also took me an age to remove it, I think it requires a decent layer rather than a thin layer as if it's thin it's difficult to peel off. In the picture below you can see that it should just gently peel away from the skin once dry.

Once I'd removed all of the mask my face seemed to look smoother, it felt smoother too, it also without a doubt removes excess oil which is brilliant. I found that I needed to rinse my skin thoroughly with some warm water afterwards and apply a really decent moisturiser as my skin became a little dry so I needed a little moisture boost to just help get the right balance back into my skin.

Overall, I liked using this and will definitely use it again when I feel I have a break out. You can purchase the blackheads killers via Lux Style for £14.95 (pack of 5).

Has anyone else used these before? What did you think?
